Announcements were sent out to the churches, borough officials and members of the community and telephone calls made to members and friends of our church.

The ground breaking service was held on the site of the proposed building on the northeast side of the existing of the building beginning at three o’clock p.m.  Susan Servin, reporter from the Delaware County Times was sent to cover the story.  Approximately one hundred members and friends gathered to participate in the service.  Following the singing of “We’ve Come This Far by Faith”, Pastor Warren D. Mays, Sr. led the ceremony.  Mayor Robert McMahon extended greetings from the borough of Med and expressed best wishes as we embark on this long awaited project.  Expressions came from Sister Mattie Keck, nonagenarian and member of the Josiah/building Fund Committee since its inception in 1988.  Others who participated were Trustee Chair Gail Randolph, Sister Carole Williams, another nonagenarian; Chair of the Deacon Board, Charles Taylor.  The Josiah Project Chair, Dr. Cecelia Evans made a brief speech expressing thanks to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for bring us this far and asking that we all join together in faith, hope and love as we continue on this journey.  Words of encouragement were given by Dr. James E. McJunkin, Executive Minister of the Philadelphia Baptist Association.

The work began on Tuesday, August, 2010 and progressed.  In November it became necessary to schedule meeting as another site beginning in January, 2011.  The architect, Robert Linn negotiated with Media Borough officials to hold the eleven o’clock service at the Media Borough Hall Community Room until March.  Sunday School was also held at the  Borough Hall Community Room  and the Morning Glory Service was held at The First Baptist Church in Media, Pa.  Beginning the first Sunday in March and continuing the fourth Sunday in April eleven o’clock services and Sunday School will convene at Media Fellowship House.  Other auxiliaries and boards meet in member’s homes and other churches.

In February, 2010 Pastor Mays, Dr. Christine Gallman and her parents, and Sister Phyllis Anderson traveled to Haiti to minister to the victims of the earthquake there.  Pastor Mays returned in early March to tell more about the love of Jesus.
